This 10-day expedition journeys from the legendary Pyramids of Giza and the temples of Luxor to the otherworldly White Desert and the crystal-clear waters of the Red Sea — cruising the Nile, soaring above the Valley of the Kings by hot air balloon, exploring vibrant local markets, and discovering thousands of years of history with expert guides.

Day 1

Welcome to Egypt!

Welcome to Egypt! Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, you'll be transferred to our hotel with time to relax after your journey. This evening, we'll gather for our Welcome Dinner to meet your fellow travelers and kick off an unforgettable adventure through one of the world's most fascinating destinations. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 2

Pyramids & Ancient Wonders

Today we'll experience some of Egypt's most iconic landmarks, beginning with the legendary Giza Pyramids and the Great Sphinx. We'll also visit the impressive Grand Egyptian Museum before continuing to Saqqara to explore the ancient Step Pyramid, the oldest large-scale stone structure ever built. Enjoy an included lunch before returning to the hotel. Dinner is on your own this evening. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 3

Into the White Desert

After breakfast, we'll journey into Egypt's breathtaking Black and White Desert for an unforgettable overnight camping experience. Marvel at dramatic rock formations, endless desert landscapes, and a sky filled with stars as you enjoy traditional meals and experience the peaceful beauty of the Sahara. Overnight at a desert camp.

Day 4

Return to Cairo

Wake up to the serenity of the desert before making our way back to Cairo. After arriving in the late afternoon, check into the hotel and enjoy a relaxing evening with free time to unwind or explore nearby at your own pace. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 5

Exploring Historic Cairo

Today we'll discover the rich history of Egypt's capital with a guided tour through Old Cairo. Visit the Citadel, the beautiful Mosque of Muhammad Ali, the Cave Church, the Mosque of Ibn Tulun, and the vibrant Khan el-Khalili Bazaar, where you can browse local shops and traditional crafts. This evening, we'll board an overnight sleeper train to Luxor. Overnight aboard the sleeper train.

Day 6

Luxor & The Nile

Upon arriving in Luxor, we'll board our Nile cruise ship, our home for the next two nights. This afternoon, explore the magnificent Karnak and Luxor Temples before enjoying dinner and a relaxing evening on the Nile. Overnight aboard the Nile cruise.

Day 7

Hot Air Balloon & Valley of the Kings

Start your day with an unforgettable sunrise hot air balloon ride over Luxor's West Bank before exploring some of Egypt's most famous archaeological sites. Visit the Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens, the Temple of Hatshepsut, and the towering Colossi of Memnon before returning to the cruise. Overnight aboard the Nile cruise.

Day 8

Temples of Upper Egypt

After checking out of the cruise, we'll continue exploring Egypt's incredible history with visits to the temples of Edfu and Kom Ombo, followed by the Aswan High Dam and the beautiful Philae Temple. Later this afternoon, we'll fly back to Cairo and settle into our hotel for the evening. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 9

Red Sea Escape

Today we'll head to Ain Sokhna on the Red Sea for a relaxing day on the water. Enjoy a private yacht excursion with opportunities to swim, snorkel, and soak in the beautiful coastal scenery before returning to Cairo for our final evening together. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 10

Farewell to Egypt

After breakfast, it's time to say goodbye to Egypt as you transfer to the airport for your journey home. Leave with unforgettable memories, new friendships, and a deeper appreciation for one of the world's oldest civilizations.

This trip features a wonderful variety of stays: hotels in Cairo, a night of camping in the White Desert, an overnight sleeper train, and two nights aboard a Nile cruise ship. Everyone will have their own bed at each location. It is typically 2-3 people in a room.

What if I don't want to do an activity?

You always have the option to hang back at the accommodations if you choose not to participate in an activity. No refunds are issued if you opt out of one of the included activities.

What if I have an emergency while on the trip?

We will immediately notify your listed emergency contact and help secure medical treatment for you if required. It is very important to carry trip insurance that covers medical situations.

What is the weather like?

November is one of the best times to visit Egypt. Cairo typically sees sunny days in the mid-70s to low 80s, Luxor runs a bit warmer, and the desert brings warm days with chilly nights — pack layers for the evening at camp.
